Description
Blackfriar Matt Black Paint is perfect if you need a dead black matt surface. The non-reflective finish is well suited to all interior surfaces such as old beams, panelling, decorative ironwork, darkrooms and stage scenery. It can be applied to wood, metal and plaster. Preparation
Make sure the surface to be painted is clean, dry and free from any contaminants. Remove any flakes or rust and for best results prepare with an appropriate metal primer.
Application
Stir well with a broad stirrer. The manufacturer recommends two coats for the best protection. Thinning is not advised. Do not paint in cold (under 5°C), damp or humid conditions. This product is suited for internal use, and should only be used with caution and on small areas if used outdoors. Do not apply directly to galvanised metal – use a primer first.

- Recoat after 16 hours and within 3 days
Limitations
- Do not use under cold (less than 5°C), damp or humid conditions.
- Matt paints are not as durable as satin / gloss paints when used externally.
- We recommend that Blackfriar Matt Black Paint is only used on small areas externally.
- For larger areas we would strongly recommend the use of Blackfriar Satin Black Paint.
- Not suitable for direct application to galvanised metal, use a suitable primer first.
Clean Up
- Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before washing with white spirit.
- Do not empty into drains or water courses. Some local authorities have special facilities for the disposal of waste coatings.
Safety
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Read label before use.
- Flammable liquid and vapour. Keep away from heat, sparks, open flames, hot surfaces.
- Use only in well-ventilated areas. May cause drowsiness or dizziness.
- If on skin, rinse skin with water or shower.
