Description
Polyvine heavy duty floor varnish is an ultra hard cross linking single pack water based polyurethane floor varnish ideal for wood, cork, slate, stone, or quarry tile floors drying in around 30 minutes and taking a full chemical cure in 16 hours. Polyvine heavy duty floor varnish is ideal for areas requiring the maximum level of durability. Superb durability with a clear glass finish, virtually no odour, clean tools with warm water.
Preparation
Thoroughly sand in the direction of the grain to remove all traces of old finishes and dirt, oil and contamination. Old floors can be impregnated with wax and grease – this will cause failure and must be completely removed. On new wood or if the old finish is in good condition, lightly sand to provide a key. Thoroughly clean after sanding.
Application
Ensure the product is well mixed. Apply 3 coats of varnish. On new wood and porous surfaces dilute the first coat 10% with water. Lightly sand wood in between applications to remove any raising of the grain that may have occurred.
When using dead flat finish, if a very high level of durability and stain resistance is required, apply one or two coats of Heavy Duty Floor Varnish Satin Finish followed by one or two coats of Heavy Duty Floor Varnish Dead Flat Finish.
Caution
Always apply to a test area before starting work. Appearance may vary according to the colour and type of wood and the number of coats.
Do not apply over uncured oil paints
Storage
Protect from extremes of temperature during storage and application. Do not use below 5 degrees C
