Description
Teknos Anti Stain Aqua Primer 2901 is a waterborne microporous primer for new timber that is formulated to reduce the migration of tannin of exotic timbers such as Sapele, Red Grandis, Meranti and Idigbo, just to name a few. Anti Stain Aqua Primer 2901 works by pulling the water soluble tannin, extractives into the primer coat and holding them in, which prevent migration through to the finish coat.
Teknos Anti Stain Primer offers best results through spray application where the coating is a more measured application typically wet film between 120 – 200µ. Small areas can be brush applied but generally you may require more brush applications to achieve best results.
Teknos Anti Stain Aqua 2901 is especially accredited by Accoya® as a product and brand that works well with this timber. Both companies have many hours of testing and when painted onto well designed joinery the Teknos coating systems can enhance the life expectancy of the joinery and extend the periods between necessary painting maintenance.

Please Note:
- This Product Must Not Freeze
- Knots: Basically 2 types – Live & Dead. Live knots may exude resin, remove crystalline residue, wipe area gently with cotton cloth with small amount of methylated spirit to remove residue and re-paint. Dead knots do not cause issue on translucent finishes. We do recommend the use of a white knotting primer on soft wood species where knots are present. Neither the primer or knotting will prevent resin exudation from live knots.
- Teknos colours are manufactured to British Standard (BS), RAL, NCS colour standards. These colours are reproduced to a commercial tolerance & shades may vary. There are a number of reasons colours may not match existing colours, the main reason being weathering, UV & atmospheric pollutants degrading existing systems. We strongly recommend painting a small test area prior to commencing a full re-paint.
- Mixed paints are Non Returnable and Non Refundable. They are made to order, all colours are made using approved manufacturers materials and equipment. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure you order the correct colour. Due to varying screen resolutions, colour swatches shades can vary when mixed in to paint. We would recommend the purchase of a Tester Pot if you are unsure, this would give a more accurate reference of the colour, also looking at the shade in the home environment would give additional assurance as colours are influenced by there surroundings (Metamerism).
