Description

Teknos Aqua Primer 2900 Translucent Base Stain is a high quality industrial primer for new wood perfect for exterior doors and windows. The base stain is used directly onto bare timber to enhance the natural colour and grain of wood. Base stain 2900 offers UV inhibitors along with properties to reduce fungal and mould growth. Aqua primer base stain 2900 must be over coated within 2-3 days with Aqua Top 2600 translucent top coat.

Preparation

The wood must be clean and free from wood dust and any possible contaminants. The moisture content of the wood should be roughly 13% and should not exceed 15%.

Application

You can apply by dipping or flow coating, as well as via saturation spray or brush machine application. For best results apply this product when the temperature of the air is 18-22°C, the relative humidity of the air is around 50% and the ventilation is good.
Before use stir the paint thoroughly. Teknos state that, due to evaporation, the solid content of the liquid must be adjusted with water regularly.

Drying times

The drying times will vary as influenced by the quality of the wood, humidity, temperature and ventilation. The following drying times were determined at 23°C and 50% relative humidity:
Dry to handle: 1-2 hours.
Dry to sand and/or overcoat: 2-3 hours.

Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. Wear respiratory protection if spraying the product.
Do not get in eyes, on skin or on clothing.
IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do, and then continue rinsing.
IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of water. Do not use solvent or thinners or white spirit.
IF SWALLOWED: Call a POISON CENTRE or doctor if you feel unwell at all.
