Description
Teknos Teknoseal 4000 end grain sealer is a unique product specially designed to seal the cut end of timber prior to and during the painting process, as it reduces the uptake of water and moisture through the sawn ends of timber. Teknos advise when painting with an opaque system to end grain seal prior to first coat of primer and then again after the first coat.
If you are using Teknos Teknoseal 4000 with translucent finishes base stain and top coat it is recommended that you apply the Teknoseal after the base stain 2900 has been applied. This allows for full penetration of the base stain to give uniformity of colour.

Preparation
The wood must be clean and free from wood dust and any possible contaminants. The moisture content of the wood should be approximately 13% (and should not exceed 15%).
Application
- Application by brush.
- Optimum temperature for products and surrounding: 18-22°C.
- Optimum relative air humidity: Approximately 50%.
Drying times
The drying times will vary as influenced by the quality of the wood, humidity, temperature and ventilation. The manufacturer estimates the product should be touch dry after 30 minutes to an hour, based on calculations determined at 23°C and 50% relative humidity.

- Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. Wear respiratory protection if spraying the product.
- Do not get in eyes, on skin or on clothing.
- IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do, and then continue rinsing.
- IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of water. Do not use solvent or thinners or white spirit.
- IF SWALLOWED: Call a POISON CENTRE or doctor if you feel unwell at all.
