Description
Zinsser Grade 1 Multi Surface Interior Restoration Coating is a high performance, mould resistant paint for interior decoration of walls and ceilings used extensively in period and historical buildings such as churches and castles.
Grade 1 is specifically designed to tackle problems which can be associated with older properties such as damp. Zinsser Grade 1 does not trap moisture behind the coating unlike conventional emulsion paints which would quickly crack or flake, it does this by allowing moisture to permeate through it allowing the walls to breath.
The finish contains biocide to protect the dried coating against fungal degradation whilst the paint film dries with zero tension which reduces the likelihood of future cracking, flaking or peeling. Zinsser Grade 1 Multi Surface can be applied to many substrates – White wash, Distemper, Lime wash, Mortar, Chalky materials. It is virtually odourless and offers unparalleled stain blocking properties hiding soot, smoke, water, nicotine and graffiti damage.
Preparation
- Surfaces should be sound, clean, dry, and free of dust, dirt, grime, grease, oil, wax, mildew, wallpaper, adhesive or any contamination that may interfere with adhesion.
- If unsure, always wash surface with an appropriate cleaning solution, or solvent and allow to dry out thoroughly before painting.
- Remove excessive chalky material and any unsoundly adhered coatings.
- Remove mould with an appropriate cleaner, such as Zinsser Mould Killer & Remover.
- Take special precautions during the surface preparation of pre 1960?s paint surfaces over wood and metal, as they may contain harmful lead. When dry-sanding avoid dust inhalation by wearing a suitable protective face mask.

Application
- Shake or stir well before using.
