Description
Blackfriar Quick Drying Clear Water Based Varnish – Transform your interior wooden surfaces with Blackfriar Quick Drying Varnish. Available in a range of natural shades, it provides a hardwearing, quick-drying finish that resists knocks, scuffs and scratches.
Preparation
Make sure the surface to be painted is clean, dry and free from any contaminants. If wax has been used then use white spirit to clean the surface thoroughly before sanding. Bare wood should be sanded smooth, always sanding with the grain and not against. Sound surfaces that have been previously varnished should be lightly sanded to provide a key. Remove dust.
Application
Stir well with a broad stirrer. The manufacturer recommends 3-4 coats on new wood or 2-3 coats on previously varnished surfaces. Make sure to read the label for further instructions!
- Coverage of up to 14m² per litre per coat
- Touch dry in 1 hour
- Recoat after 4 hours and within 3 days
Limitations
- Not suitable for use on plastic type materials, eg. imitation wood.
- The clear matt finish is not suitable for use on floors.
- Do not use over French polish.
- For coloured varnish, apply the product as evenly as possible to maintain an overall consistent colour.
- The final shade of the varnish depends upon the orginal colour and absorbency of the wood.
- We recommend to test for shade on an off-cut or inconspicuous area.
- If using more than one tin we recommend mixing them to ensure an even shade is obtained.
- Do not use under cold (less than 10°C), damp or humid conditions.
- Do not wash the varnished surface for at least 3 days after application. If water is spilled on it during this period gently wipe off with a soft dry cloth.
Safety
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Read label before use.
- May produce an allergic reaction
- If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand.
