Eggshell paint describes a mid sheen paint finish typically around a 40% gloss level, traditionally a solvent based paint suitable for interior wood work where a modern contemporary finish is required, an alternative to Gloss finish. Modern paint finishes now are often described as Satin finish. These finishes are now available in water based and solvent based versions.
