Description
Berger Wood Primer White is an alkyd-based wood primer that provides deep penetration on all types of wood, both interior exterior. Made especially for the harsh tropical conditions of the Caribbean, this primer has been designed with prolonged heat and sunlight in mind. Although Berger topcoats are self-priming, Berger Wood Primer White is recommended as the first coat on all exterior timber and weatherboard for the best long term performance.
Preparation
- Surface to be primed must be sound, clean, dry and free from contaminants.
- Allow to dry thoroughly.
- Fill and repair all cracks and joints.
- Remove any flaking or blistering paint by chemical, mechanical means.
Application
- Apply by brush, roller or spray.
- Stir well before use.
- Apply with a brush and work well into the wood grain.
- Apply a full coat and allow to dry overnight.
- Sand back using #150-180 grit paper.
- If necessary re-coat areas that show substrate after sanding.
- Coverage is dependent on texture and porosity of the surface.
