Description

Teknos Teknol Aqua 1410 Preserver. TEKNOL AQUA 1410 is an aqueous industrial wood preservative for new untreated soft wood, perfect for use on exterior surfaces such as windows and doors. The product protects the wood surface from discolouration and wood destroying. Best application is to deluge by spray, though the Teknol Aqua 1410 Preserver can also be applied by brush, roller or dipping.

Best results achieved when applied to bare new wood, assembled joinery, or prior to assembly to extend life expectancy to all areas. Ideal for exterior doors and windows, balconies, conservatories, wooden cladding, garden furniture and much more.

Preparation

• The wood must be clean and free from wood dust and any possible contaminants.
• The moisture content of the wood should be approximately 13% (and should not exceed 15%) for doors and windows.
• For cladding the moisture content of the wood should be 18% give or take 2%.

Application

• Application by brush, dipping or flow coating procedure, or manual or automated spraying. Stir the product thoroughly before use.
• The manufacturer states that, due to evaporation, the solid content of the liquid must be adjusted with water regularly. This adjustment is based on the measured solid of the liquid in the system.
• Optimum temperature for products and surrounding: 18-22°C.
• Optimum relative air humidity: Approximately 50%.
• System treatment: Treated parts must always be protected with a topcoat treatment before being exposed to the weather.

Drying times

The drying times will vary as influenced by the quality of the wood, humidity, temperature and ventilation. The following drying times were determined at 20°C and 50% relative humidity:
Dry to handle: 1-2 hours.
Dry to recoat: 2-3 hours.
The drying time can be reduced using special drying systems to force drying.

Safety Information

• May produce an allergic reaction.
• If you need medical advice have the tin and/or label at hand.
• Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. Wear respiratory protection if spraying the product.
• Do not get in eyes, on skin or on clothing.
• IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do, and then continue rinsing.
• IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of water. Do not use solvent or thinners or white spirit.
• IF SWALLOWED: Call a POISON CENTRE or doctor if you feel unwell at all.
