Description
Leyland Hardwearing Matt is a specially formulated paint designed to provide an extremely durable and robust finish. It’s perfect for areas prone to wear and tear or condensation due to its washable, scrubbable, stain-resistant, and moisture-resisting properties. This non-yellowing formula is suitable for interior walls and ceilings, offering a low odour and fast-drying application experience.
Preparation
Before applying Leyland Hardwearing Matt, it’s crucial to prepare the surface properly to ensure optimal results.
-
Surface Condition: Ensure the surface is sound, clean, dry, and free from grease.
-
Removing Defects: Eliminate all loose and defective paint.
-
Sealing: Seal absorbent surfaces with a solution of up to 1 part water to 4 parts Hardwearing Matt.
-
Priming: Prime bare timber and metal surfaces with the appropriate Leyland Primer.
-
Sanding: Rub down sound, previously gloss-painted surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly.
-
Safety: Avoid inhaling dust; wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. Take special precautions with pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal due to potential lead content.
Application
For best results, follow these application guidelines:
-
Stirring: Stir the paint well before use.
-
Tools: Apply using a brush, roller, or spray. For rollers, use a medium pile synthetic type.
-
Loading the Tool: Do not overfill the tray; ensure the roller is loaded evenly. If using a brush, load generously.
-
Application Technique: Apply liberally and evenly, avoiding overspreading.
-
Drying Time: Under normal conditions, allow 4 hours before applying a second coat if needed.
-
Temperature: Do not apply if the air or surface temperature is below 10°C.
Important Considerations
-
Non-Returnable and Non-Refundable: Mixed paints are custom-made and cannot be returned or refunded.
-
Colour Accuracy: Be aware that colours may vary due to screen resolutions. When in doubt, purchase a Tester Pot for a more accurate colour reference.
-
Environmental Influence: Colours may be influenced by their surroundings, a phenomenon known as metamerism. Viewing the colour in the intended environment is recommended for assurance.
-
Customer Responsibility: It is the customer’s responsibility to order the correct colour.
